Research at Lumbardhi is grounded on generating inquiry through critical engagement and on illuminating visual and material culture in 20th century Kosovo. It is designed to explore transformative, interdisciplinary ideas across art, politics and institutional histories. It strives to formulate investigations, research exercises and projects that are conceptualized to question and identify practices and discourses that remain unmarked but have material effects within our contemporary moment. The department encompasses the archives unit which is set to generate a digital archive by making the data sets and materials of specific research projects publicly available.
Lumbardhi’s Research unit is designed to develop finely-tuned forms of query and explore transformative, interdisciplinary ideas across art, politics, history, education and institutional histories. This unit includes the Archives component, which is set to document Lumbardhi’s history, illuminate on visual and material culture in 20th century Kosovo, as well as complement the Foundation’s programming and research endeavors.
