#Lumbardhi is excited to present French band Nouvelle Vague, organized as part of Lumbardhi n’Behar.
Formed in Paris in 2004 by musicians Olivier Libaux and Marc Collin, and adapting sounds of punk’s post-punk melodies with the 50s and 60s style of Bossa Nova, the Nouvelle Vague has infamously deconstructed the notion of “the cover band”.
Supported by some of the most prestigious labels in the business, the group have delighted their audiences with transformative re-interpretations of original songs. Since their self-titled album debut in 2004, the band has released a total five studio albums. Now, as part of their extensive 2019 tour celebrating the band’s 15 years together, Nouvelle Vague takes the stage at Garden Cinema to perform some of their most iconic and ambient tracks. This latest live production finds the band returning to its roots: an acoustic guitar, a few keyboards, a smattering of ambience, and two singers.
Prizren’s Agona will open the show as supporting act, offering a reincarnation of jazz and blues on a spring night.
