Saturday, 30 July – 20:30

Before making way for the 21st edition of the International Documentary and Short Film Festival DokuFest, the LXX film program that celebrates the 70th anniversary of the opening of Kino Lumbardhi comes with a film that pushes forward the genre that it represents. The horror film “The Exorcist”.

Below you can read the statement of the curators of the program.

Adapted from William Peter Blatty’s novel of the same name and directed by William Friedkin, The Exorcist isn’t just a simple good-evil battle as 12-year-old Regan tries to defeat a demonic force that haunts her. On the contrary, the consciences of individuals who are accepted as respectable in the society are also questioned, revealing how knotty the issue of belief is. Considered the first horror movie to win an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, the movie was shown full-house for a long time when it was released in 1973.
