For the participants led by Ilir Bajri, this experience gave them the opportunity to become part of an ensemble and experiment with their musical skills and talents in a creative way within a group. Through this workshop, the group composed and produced a new soundtrack for the 18-minute documentary "Prizren, the City of Resources and Beauty, 1972".
‘Lumbardhi Experimental Ensemble’ has been developed within the scope of Lumbardhi’s Education Program and is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and the Municipality of Prizren.
To conclude the Pandemic Albums component for this season, Lumbardhi had the pleasure to present the latest album of the group por-nó entitled ‘Dyftyrëshi’.
Recorded between 2016 and 2018 in several studios and locations , ‘Dyftyrëshi’ marks the album in which Dritëro Nikqi has worked the longest and with the largest presence of collaborators. Besides the essential and initial group consisting of Dritëro Nikqi, Nesim Maxhuni, Liburn Jupolli and Michael Haves, it is no exaggeration to say that dozens of musicians participated in the creation of the album and that each of them adds to it their color and personality.
Although the songs have the theme of refugees coming from war zones as their initial inspiration, they are more intimate and at the same time more direct songs while the title of the album remains ambiguous and open for interpretation.
The event took place on Saturday, August 28, from 20:30, at Kino Bahçe.
“Can Laughter Break Bricks?” brings a selection of films where cinema and laughter, subversion and the carnival, collective will and humour meet. All of the films selected from the early decades of the cinema and from the two geographical poles, present laughter as a radical act and a starting point for critical thinking.
This film program was made possible with the support of Raiffeisen Bank in Kosovo, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and KOHA group.
Sonic Dusk this week, comes with a new approach to tones through the multidisciplinary kosovar artist Tadi who also expresses herself through music. For Tadi, expressing through music in its essence conveys the truth of the human condition. With her compositions and mixes she does exactly that, echoing archetypal rhythms of our ancestral meditations through ever evolving narratives of explorations on sound and noise. Hybrids that emerge in the process in the best way reveal our human mutations and make them audible.
Tadi and her sister Anisa will warm up the atmosphere by interpreting persian-inspired sounds on Iranian Erbane and the Turkish Bindir tambourines. Don’t miss out!
We look forward to seeing you at Kino Bahçe!

Lumbardhi Foundation is pleased to present Kinofigurimi: An Open Archive, an exhibition on Lumbardhi Cinema’s history and its relation with modernity in Prizren, based on the archival study conducted by Tevfik Rada and Bengi Muzbeg.
Kinofigurimi: An open archive is an exhibition that contains images, objects, documents and articles embedded in the building, from the offices to the hall, from the loggias to the projection room. The exhibited pieces and “remnants” of the archive do not create a whole story and they are not based on chronological order, but are incomplete and open to many interpretations. Rather, they constitute a cinematic and non-linear composition which highlights in fragments aspects of this complex history.
Kinofigurimi: An open archive will open on August 9, from 18:00 at Kino Lumbardhi and it remains open until September 27, 2021. It will be followed by events, a publication and conversations related to the research and the multilayered history of Lumbardhi Cinema.
Kinofiguration was developed in partnership with the ForumZFD office in Prishtina, and supported by the the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Foundation for Arts Initiatives, Raiffeisen Bank in Kosovo and the Kosovo Privatisation Agency.
